Bringing Tribadism To Town

Is orgasm by scissoring a myth, or can it really be done?

Tribadism seems to be a divided subject among lesbians. Some swear that it only works in porn intended for consumption by straight men, while others swear by it as a go-to foreplay move. I personally think that it’s incredibly sexy, although it can be a bit difficult to master.

If you’re unfamiliar with the idea of tribadism in general, it’s commonly referred to as “scissoring” due to the way the standard position looks: The legs of one partner will intersect with the legs of the other partner in such a way that they resemble two pairs of scissors.

The standard method is a bit difficult if you’re not on the smaller side, as your (or your partner’s, or both!) stomach could get in the way and make it a little tougher.

However, there’s no set-in-stone rule that says that you have to put vagina to vagina.

Tribbing (as it is commonly called) is simply where you rub yourself against your partner sexually. This can be against her vagina, or against her leg, or even your leg against her.

Basically, if you’re not using your mouth, your hands, or a toy, it probably counts as tribbing.

Read on to see some variations on the standard that you can try yourself to add a little spice to your sex life. They may not replace your go-to positions, but they can definitely provide a bit of sexy fun when you need to mix things up.

Rodeo

Rodeo

For this position, one partner will need to be lying on the bed (or couch, or floor – whatever you’re working with) with her legs spread apart. The other partner should position herself such that she is straddling one of Partner A’s legs. Once you are in position, it’s time to get to grinding – start off slow at first, and work your way up to some friction.

The girl on top is able to control the rhythm, which can be used to tease her partner until she’s begging for it. At this point, it’s up to you to decide whether to finish this way or switch to another activity.

Blue Cowgirl

Blue Cowgirl

This is a fairly simple position for tribbing. Basically, one partner will be laying on top of the other partner, ensuring that your clits are able to rub together. Due to the geometry involved with this position, it is much easier if both partners are on the smaller side, although that’s not to say that it can’t be done with larger couples or partners of different sizes (it will just be quite a bit more difficult).

Hip Hot

Hip Hot

This is similar to the doggy-style position, with both partners on their knees. You will be backing your hips into each other so that they “fit” – the partner on bottom will then use her bum to rub circles against her partner’s clit, while the partner on top will reach her hand around and stimulate her partner that way. It can take some practice to get the rhythm down, but you’ll no doubt enjoy working to get it right.

The Eve and Now

The Eve and Now

This position can be used either for scissoring or double-ended dildo play. One partner will be lying on her stomach, while her partner positions herself on her side, against her such that they can rub against each other (or, with a toy, they can thrust against each other). It takes a fair amount of practice to master this one, but it’s sure to provide a great deal of satisfaction once you’ve got it down.

The Amazon

Partner A should be lying on her back in a comfortable position, with one leg up in the air. Partner B should slide into place between her lover’s legs, at a bit of an angle, and either hold the extended leg in the air or allow Partner A’s leg to rest against her body. Then, simply rub yourselves together until you reach the point of climax.

The Labrys

The Labrys

If you’re a bit adventurous and a bit acrobatic, this may be the move you’ve been looking for. One partner should have her legs resting on the bed, and her head on a pillow on the floor. The other partner will then sit on the bed in such a way that they can stimulate their partner’s clit with their bum. It’s not particularly easy, or particularly intimate, but it can provide a great deal of satisfaction for those who are willing to give it a shot.

Before Your Very Eyes

Before Your Very Eyes

One thing that’s often lacking from tribbing positions is the ease of making eye contact. Well, Before Your Very Eyes changes that. After getting into a traditional missionary position (without any toys) you two can adjust yourselves so that your clits are pressing against each other. The angle makes it super easy to gaze into each other’s eyes as you bring each other to climax. For added intimacy (and stability), consider locking your hands together as well.

Tangled

Tangled

This position is great for either double-ended dildo play, scissoring, or even a strap-on if you’re more experienced. At a bit of an angle, both partners should be seated facing each other, with their legs intertwined. It works best if both partners are a bit smaller and flexible, although with some practice we’re sure that anyone can incorporate it into their routine.

Face to Face

Face to Face

This position is absolutely perfect if you have a double-ended toy, although it can certainly be done with your hands or two separate toys as well. Sit facing each other (ideally, with each of you draping one leg over your partner’s leg; you can definitely also have one partner have both of her legs atop the other partner’s legs) and get to work.

Facing each other ensures that you’ll be able to see every pleasure-filled facial expression on her face, and you’ll also be able to fondle and caress each other as you thrust against each other.

Due to the very wet nature of these activities, it’s recommended that you only partake with someone you are committed and faithful to, or while using an adequately-sized dental dam.

The dam will ensure that there is no exchange of bodily fluids from one partner to another.

KitschMix must insist that you practice safer sexual activities unless you are absolutely certain that there is no risk of disease. Have fun and stay safe!
