Angelina Jolie Has Filed For Divorce From Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, TMZ is reporting, after two years of marriage and 12 dating (they got together in 2004).

In a statement, her attorney Robert Offer said

Angelina has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”

The couple have been together since 2004 and married in 2014.

Jolie has reportedly asked for physical custody of their six children, with Pitt allowed visitation rights.

She isn’t asking for spousal support. However, the date of separation is listed as 15 September.

Jolie was previously married to actor Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. She also dated model Jenny Shimizu – when the pair met on the set of their 1996 film Foxfire, when Jolie was only 20 years-old.

Jolie was very open about the relations saying;

I have loved women in the past and slept with them. I think if you love and want to pleasure a woman, particularly if you are a woman yourself, then certainly you know how to do things a certain way”

Charlize Theron drew lots of praise and cemented her as a certifiable badass playing Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Now, it looks like her enviable butt-kicking skills are inspiring a gender swap in the upcoming thriller, The Gray Man.

The actress is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the action flick, in a lead role that was previously attached to Brad Pitt.

According to Deadline, Theron is in early talks to star in the film based on Mark Greaney’s novel of the same name.

The screen adaptation has been stuck in development for some time. In 2011, Pitt was reportedly interested in taking on the lead role, with James Gray (The Immigrant) attached as a director. After that fell through, the project was temporarily put on the back burner.

Now, it seems that Sony wants to redevelop the concept with Theron in the central role

The Gray Man centres on an expert CIA op-turned-assassin who is forced to evade adversaries as he saves the lives of daughters he didn’t know he had.

While swapping the gender of a lead role in order to accommodate the actor doesn’t happen very often, it isn’t unheard of. Just look back on some classic examples: Sigourney Weaver’s iconic role as hero Ripley in Alien was originally conceived for a man, and spy thriller, Salt, was re-tailored Angelina Jolie Pitt after Tom Cruise bowed out of the lead role.

Then there is Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters, the rumoured Expendabelles film, and the Road House reboot set to star Ronda Rousey in a role originated by Patrick Swayze.

Sandra Bullock also recently nabbed a role originally written for a man in this month’s Our Brand Is Crisis.

Given the year Theron has had, it’s no surprise that Sony would want to get her on board. The actress has proven herself more than capable of leading a fast-paced blockbuster and Sony would be smart to strategize the movie premise around her. But regardless of whether she takes on this particular movie on or not, one thing’s for sure: Theron’s winning streak as an action star is just beginning.

Bisexual actress, director, and film maker, Angelina Jolie Pitt, has shared details about her marriage to Brad Pitt, in a new interview with Vogue.

Angelina admitted the couple have their “issues” as she promoted her new film, By the Sea, which sees the pair starring together on the big screen for the first time since 2005.

The film, which she also wrote and directed, centres on a couple’s attempt to keep their crumbling marriage together while on holiday in France.

As artists we wanted something that took us out of our comfort zones. Just being raw actors. It’s not the safest idea. But life is short.”

However, the 40-year-old maintains the film is “not autobiographical”.

Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems we couldn’t have made the film.”

The actress, who recently underwent surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes, also revealed her excitement to turn 50.

They are not easy surgeries. The ovaries are an easy surgery, but the hormone changes – interesting. Both of the women in my family, my mother and my grandmother started dying in their 40s. I’m 40. I can’t wait to hit 50 and know I made it.”

Early in her career, Angelina not only played lesbian and bisexual roles, she was also open about the fact that she is bisexual and has had relationships with both men and women.

She has often spoken openly and honestly about her feelings for women, despite the fears that would keep some celebrities in the closet, she has always won big awards and big movie roles.

I’ve never hidden my bisexuality. But since I’ve been with Brad, there’s no longer a place for that.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Criticized For Letting Their Child ‘Explore’ Gender Identity

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have faced a lot of criticism after reports that they had decided to support their child’s decision to be called John. The media went into a frenzy over the story, and so did the anti-LGBT activist who attacked their parenting skills – going as far to say their “destructive ideas are ruining people’s lives”.

Since the story came to light, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt haven’t said too much more on the subject. In fact the couple never said that their child was having an identity crisis, but just wanted to be called John.

So what do we actually know. Well in a recent interview Brad Pitt said…

“She only wants to be called John. John or Peter, so it’s a ‘Peter Pan’ thing. So we’ve got to call her John. So you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people.”

It seems labelling John Jolie-Pitt trans* at this point maybe unnecessary. Brad and Angelina have not made any kind of statements that would suggest that they treat John as their son, but only that they are allowing their child to be who she wants to be without pressure to be anyone else.

“I don’t think it’s for the world to interpret anything. She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called ‘John’ for a while. Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It’s who she is. It’s been a surprise to us and it’s really interesting, but she’s so much more than that – she’s funny and sweet and pretty.”

For this stand point we have to praise the family for their open-mindedness, and allowing their child the freedom of self.

So what is the big deal that their child wants to be called John? What we all need to remember though, is there something special about parents who accept their children for who they are without offering labels, judgment, or terms of any kind. And hopefully, as time goes on, we as a society will hear less about those oppressed by loved ones until they are pushed to the brink and more about those who are allowed to explore every aspect of themselves as they grow.

Angelina Jolie Has Private Audience With The Pope

Movie star-turned-director, Angelina Jolie, made a VIP trip to Rome to have an audience with Pope Francis where he also had a preview screening of her latest film ‘Unbroken’. Talk about having friends in high places, huh?

Angelina directed ‘Unbroken’, which about American Olympian and World War Two hero Louis Zamperini, whose plane was shot down over the Pacific during World War Two. The film stars Jack O’Connell, and tells the story of Zamperini’s survival in a raft  and his ordeal as an inmate in prisoner of war camps.

A source revealed that both Angelina and Brad ‘admire the pope’ and ‘like the pope’s message’ after he famously spoke about homosexuality in 2013, where he said: ‘If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge?’

Her meeting with the Pope comes just three months after the actress received an honorary Damehood from Queen Elizabeth II.

Angelina continually campaigns for charities and those less fortunate than her selves, spearheading her involvement with many global organisations and causes thanks to her role as a UN Ambassador.

Last week there was plenty of attention given to John Jolie Pitt, when the family appeared on the red carpet for Jolie’s film ‘Unbroken’, wearing a tuxedo and with cropped hair.

The family has always shown full support for John’s right to explore their self-identification.

“She wants to be a boy.. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”

The family have been praised for their handling of the situation, and have been held up as a good example of how to handle a child’s exploration of their gender identity.

In June, they appeared side-by-side in a Vogue bridal spread, with Jenny Shimizu wearing a hot white tux and Michelle Harper rocking a white and black polka dot ball gown.

Now they have finally tied the knot, days after Shimizu ex-lover Angelina Jolie married Brad Pitt.

Shimizu, a former Calvin Klein model, and brand consultant Harper met at a 2012 party.

Shimizu told the New York Times of meeting Harper…

“I didn’t believe it myself until I saw it. It’s like so many things about her. There are these misconceptions and generalizations that don’t fit this person who is full of spirit and down-to-earthiness.”
