Tellofilms Bring Us Another Awesome Lesbian Web Series ‘The List’ Ft Clementine Ford, Lindsay Hicks, Saffron Burrows, ‘The Real L Word’s’ Tracy Ryerson,

It doesn’t seem that long ago that The Real L Word first entered our lives and our screens.

For The L Word fans and new viewers alike, it definitively left a long-lasting impression. Unapologetic, fast-paced and real (was it though?), each of us had a favourite character. And one of mine was Tracy Ryerson, so I couldn’t be happier to announce that she will be back in our screens.

The nine-part web series, written by Kelleen Conway Blanchard, and produced and directed by Jillian Armenante, will focus on Chloe (Lindsay Hicks), a chef who is going through a rough patch with Mike (Josh Bitton ), her boyfriend.

Chloe’s a hopeless romantic and Mike is oblivious. After an innocent conversation with her best friend Winston ( James Evan Bonifant), on which celebrities would be on their “free pass list,” it’s revealed that Chloe wouldn’t mind dipping her toes in the lady pool, more specifically with Tina Max (played by the impeccable Saffron Burrows).

Distributed by tellofilms.com, The List is executive produced by Christin Baker who

This is a concept that I have been batting around for years and knew that Jillian and writer Kelleen were the perfect duo to bring it to life. I couldn’t have asked for a better cast to play these characters.”

Well, where does Ryerson fit into this show?

thelist-ep101_640

Well, we aren’t quite sure yet, but along side Ryerson, we have other L Word alumms joining the cast too. Does “I know that I’m still Gay 101, but I’m a really fast learner.” ring a bell?

Yep, that’s right, Clementine Ford is also in the show. She will also be joining the cast and although we are still not entirely sure how Ford’s or Ryerson’s characters will be like, or even how big of a role they will have on “The List”, I surely can’t wait to find out!

We can however expect well-written queer characters, since tello Films focuses on producing and distributing web-series with a lesbian focus and moreover, with a focus on authenticity and bringing forward stories and experiences not only about lesbians but also for lesbians. Tello Films has even mentioned “(…) that lesbian/queer characters are front and center.” Is this a dream?!

Tracy has even expressed how excited she is about this project: “I am so glad to be in another fun series on tellofilms.com. I think the tello audience will get a kick out of this series.”

The List premieres on the 2nd of October.

Will you be watching the return of both Tracy Ryerson and Clementine Ford to TV? We’ll keep you posted on The List.

Dinah Shore Weekend to Feature The L Word and The Real L Word Cast Members

The L Word television franchise has a pretty long history with the Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend. In season one of the scripted show, The L Word, Alice, Jenny, Dana and Shane road-tripped their way to the event and got themselves into dramatic (and comedic) hijinks while the cast of the reality spin-off, The Real L Word, attended multiple times during its three seasons.

At Dinah Shore Weekend 2016, that history is set to continue as cast members from both The L Word and The Real L Word will be headed to Palm Springs next month.

Attending the event (which takes place between March 30 – April 3) will be Clementine Ford (who played Molly Kroll), Elizabeth Keener (who played Dawn Denbo), along with The Real L Word cast member Tracy Ryerson.

The three actors will be at the event as part of the tellofilms-sponsored Dinah Film Fest. All three have featured in tellofilm projects – Tracy Ryerson starred in the Kiss Me I’m Famous web series, and Clementine Ford and Elizabeth Keener will both star in the upcoming project Skirtchasers – and this should give fans of queer female media a chance to watch some great shows, shorts, films, and documentaries.

Moreover, fans will be treated to a special, ‘farewell’ performance from another set of The Real L Word cast members, Hunter Valentine.

The band’s music and personal lives featured heavily on the reality show and now, the pop/punk band (made up of Kiyomi McCloskey and Laura Petracca, along with touring members Leanne Bowes and Lisa Bianco) will perform their last show as they prepare to go on an indefinite hiatus.

Other big draws to this year’s Dinah Shore Weekend include a night of comedy and music from Orange Is The New Black’s Lea Delaria, DJing from both Samantha Ronson and Mary Mac, and a performance from Grammy-nominated artist Elle King.

Watch New L Word Trailer – L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin

This Friday night, L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin premieres on Showtime, and here is a first look at what to expect from the 90 minute documentary from Ilene Chaiken and Magical Elves, who also produced The Real L Word.

This new documentary journeys deep into Bible Belt towns like Laurel, Gulfport and Hattiesburg to tell the stories of a dozen women, including a newly out-and-proud former pastor banished from her church, but who later regains her self-esteem by launching a program to support her local LGBTQ community. A white mother willing to accept her daughter’s black lover, if only she were a man. A couple grapples with both infertility and female-to-male gender transitioning. And a former life-long lesbian struggles to “pray the gay away,” and hopes to do the same for her openly gay son.

Showtime’s new ‘L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin’ out August 8

Earlier this year we learned that L Word creator Ilene Chaiken was working on a new 90-minute documentary that follows the lives of lesbians in Mississippi – L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin

The new documentary, will look at what it is life like for lesbians living outside more progressive metropolitan areas in America. Where they often endure hardships, bigotry, bullying, sexism and racism while trying.

The show journeys deep into Bible Belt towns like Laurel, Gulfport and Hattiesburg to tell the stories of a dozen such women, including a newly out-and-proud former pastor banished from her church, but who later regains her self-esteem by launching a program to support her local LGBTQ community. A white mother would accept her daughter’s black lover, if only she were a man. A couple grapples with both infertility and female-to-male gender transitioning. And a former life-long lesbian struggles to “pray the gay away,” and hopes to do the same for her openly gay son.

The new documentary Sin is a continuation of Chaiken’s exploration of modern-day lesbian life. Her groundbreaking drama series ‘The L Word’ ran for 6 seasons on Showtime, which was then followed by 3 seasons of reality show ‘The Real L Word’ that followed a similar group of lesbians at work and at play in LA and NY.

The L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin premieres on August 8. Take a closer look at the kinds of things will happen.
