Meet The Hottest New Boy Band From China That’s Actually Made Up Of Five Androgynous Women

One of China’s hottest new boy bands, FFC-Acrush has just revealed its five members are all female.

The androgynous group is made up of five women – Lu Keran, An Jun Xi, Peng Xi Chen, Min Jun Qian and Lin Fan – who are all in their early 20s and were launched last year after a competition.

Their debut video isn’t out until the end of April

FFC-Acrush fills an unusual niche in China’s homegrown boy or girl bands scene, where girl bands have been shaped by the influence of J-pop, which can involve knee socks, pony tails and other symbols of girlish cuteness.

The letter “A” in the name stands for Adonis, a god in Greek mythology known as the epitome of male beauty, says the group’s agent Zhou Xiaobai in a phone interview with Quartz.

“A group advocating freedom, not bounded by frames” is Acrush’s distinguishing concept, Zhou says.

In China, women dressing up like men has become a more common sight and more accepted by society in recent years. That’s in part thanks to pop idol Li Yuchun, dubbed the mother of the unisex look in China. After Li won the nationwide talent show “Super Girl” in 2005, more boyish girls popped up on TV, but none of them became superstars like Li.

China’s talent agents have been talking about forming an androgynous band for years ever since Li’s success, Zhou says, but few women wanted to take the risk. Zhou’s search for unisex stars across the country began last March. In

The Acrush members won’t use words like boy or girl when referring to themselves. Rather they prefer the gender-free title meishaonian or handsome youths.

Most of the groups fans are girls who refer to the Acrush members as ‘husbands’, a term usually reserved for male pop stars.

Occasionally they are sent love letters from adoring female fans but Acrush leader Lu Keran, 21, said they never reply.

‘Of course I won’t write back,’ she told Quartz.

The group’s management forbids them from talking about their sexuality.

Not everyone is supportive of FFC-Acrush’s gender bending. About 15% of their followers are ‘anti-fans’ and troll the group for their boyish attire.

Androgynous Model Rain Dove Shares Her Story in New Campaign

Androgynous model Rain Dove shares her story for Dove’s new #MyBeautyMySay campaign.

The gender non-conforming model opens up about the struggles and triumphs of rocking an androgynous look.

You don’t get to tell me how I need to look.”

According to Dove, 85% of women 79% of girls with low body-esteem are more likely to stop doing the things they love, including opting out of sports activities, if they don’t feel good about the way they look.

In her campaign video, Rain recalls how an agent mis-cast her thinking she’s a man:

I went to this casting call after losing a bet and they cast me as a male by accident. Two choices: I can say, one, ‘I’m sorry, there’s been a huge mistake, I’m a woman and I’m really sorry for wasting your time. Or I could own it.”

I loved the fact that I was different. I loved that I was unique. I may not be the conventional girl, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a pretty girl, or that any girl’s not a pretty girl.”

Dove’s film hopes to change a recent finding that half of women have not felt like they could stand up for their opinions because of insecurities about their appearance.

Out Androgynous Model Proves Lesbians Most Definitely Can Wear Hervé Léger Dresses

Rain Dove – who models both men and women’s clothes – won the internet this week when she posted this picture of her trying on three dresses by the French fashion house Hervé Léger – complete with baseball cap. Proving lesbian can wear these figure hugging dresses perfectly.

Earlier this month, Patrick Couderc, the former Managing Director of Hervé Léger in the UK, lost his job following insensitive remarks he made which included jibes about lesbians.

If you’re a committed lesbian and you are wearing trousers all your life, you won’t want to buy a Léger dress. Lesbians would want to be rather butch and leisurely.”

Androgynous f(x) Rapper Amber Liu Address Haters With Moving Words

Amber Liu from multi-national Kpop girl group f (x) has never been a conventional pop idol. And in country like Korean, where most celebrities stick strictly to conventional gender roles and beauty standards, this pop start stood out for androgynous style.

Amber, a Californian native who often raps in her group was insulted recently over her looks, so the 22-year-old took to Instagram to vent her dismay.

In a carefully crafted message (that goes with a black image) she wrote.

I have been a tomboy pretty much all my life and honestly, to put it short, it really sucks sometimes. I personally believe girls and boys are not limited to one specific look. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. We are all different. If we all sang the same melody how can there be harmony? Don’t judge someone just because they’re different. Hopefully we can all grow to respect each other’s differences.”

While all of her fellow members usually wear a skirt, heels, and dress in performances, Amber tends to like shorts and sneakers.

She has once stated she likes guys who looks really cold and rude. However, she still regularly faces questions like whether she goes on dates with lesbians.

Ever since a child, she has been “judged, avoided, bothered, and cursed at” just for appearing manly.

Luckily for Amber and her fans, malicious words do not appear to hurt the boyish star quite as much now.

I really like myself, so why am I trying to hide myself?. Beautiful’ released earlier this year. From now on, I will do things my way.”

Never do just one. This fall, Tom Ford has introduced his new lipstick range ‘Lips & Boys’, a limited edition lipstick collection, named after the men in Tom Ford’s life.

However what makes the launch, so interesting for us, is the use of out model Erika Linder in the promo video. Hot – end of.
