Sims 4 Get’s LGBT Filter Fix

Shortly after  the launch of Sims 4 last week, players noticed the game would not allow characters with names that contained the words gay, homosexual, lesbian, queer, or other LGBT terms to be shared through the game’s online Gallery system. When the words are entered into the name or description, the game does not allow the character to be uploaded or shared online.
According to the error message, the character “contains a forbidden word”.

Electronic Arts (EA) has since issued a fix for the banned words. An EA spokesperson has said the gaming giant is aware of the issue, and is preparing a fix to remove the issue…

“The Sims has a long history of supporting stories that players want to tell, irrespective of gender preference. The Gallery uses an automated filtering program that filters out certain words, including some of the ones you mentioned below. We are aware of have been working on a fix, which will be out soon.”

On launching promotional material for the game’s release, EA boasted LGBT-specific ads telling users to “Be Proud”.

The Sims is a video game franchise that has been inclusive of same-sex romance since the first instalment was released in February 2000. EA Games has been quick to let players know the LGBT filter currently being encountered in the game isn’t a change in policy but a bug plaguing the system that the company is already hard at work fixing.

EA’s response stands in sharp contrast to the statement made by Nintendo of America after the company experienced a wave of backlash for releasing its own version of a life simulator game, Tomodachi Life, which excluded same-sex couples.

“The relationship options in the game represent a playful alternate world rather than a real-life simulation. We hope that all of our fans will see that Tomodachi Life was intended to be a whimsical and quirky game, and that we were absolutely not trying to provide social commentary.”

The art of Flirting – Keep fresh and keep it real

The gay community has definitely not fell behind on the flirting bandwagon. Most relationships always start off by flirting. There are various was to flirt and if you utilize them correctly you could be looking at a brand new same-sex relationship! Make sure you don’t compliment someone on something bad or you could end up with a black eye, a broken nose, and a broken heart.

When ‘gay’ flirting, hold the persons eyes, eyes always communicate your emotions more than your mouth can. A look in their direction could make them feel welcome and open to talk to you. Look in his eyes more than you can look into anyone else’s, graze your eyes down and back up his body so he knows for sure that you are interested in him.

When having a conversation with someone you are flirting with- whisper. Whisper anything into his ear. This will grab his attention more than if you spoke in a normal tone. Try to mock the way the other person is talking to you. This way they will know you admire them and how they talk. Everyone does this, we all try to imitate the person we love, we talk like them and walk like them.

As with any flirting, don’t make any sexual advances on your first day of gay flirting. If you have been flirting for awhile then it is okay, but if you haven’t tried it before and it is the first day, you will be shut down immediately. Use any other skills you have to flirt but leave that sexual advance in the back of your mind for another time, to save a possible relationship. Be confident, not cocky, or shy, and all should go as well as planned. I hope you enjoy your new relationship!

Long Distance Relationships

LDR or long distance relationships happen when two individuals are in a committed relationship but live a long distance from each other and are unable to see each other but on special occasions.

People who have been hurt in the past in the twist of a bad breakup sometimes turn to web-dating to try to find someone who has suffered through the same experience(s) as them. Web dating is individuals connected through a website, and consistently talking and flirting due to a strong chemistry connection. For this to be effective you have to treat online dating just as you would face to face dating.

Long distance relationships may be difficult and could face some serious hardships if the two really just want to be in each other’s presence. However, it does give the relationship a good value when the two are physically together, because they cherish the time so much more than a normal relationship.

Most relationships that are long distance simply because they’re too difficult or they simply turn into a normal relationship when one individual is able to move closer to the other.

If this is not possible the two may visit each other on the weekends, or use vacation time to fly out and see their loved one.  It takes a lot of effort and time to make these relationships work.

Does Love Get Old For Lesbians?

Age is but a number… or is it? When an older woman hits on you, its hard to say how you should act or what you should say. No matter if you’re ready for the relationship or not, it’s best to be prepared for it.

Ideas for ‘Older’ Lesbians to find their match:

  1. Internet: The internet is becoming more and more popular for people to find the love of their life. Why not older women as well? There aren’t as many public scenes for the cougars, so online dating is more subtle and way more effective for their age group.
  2. Activities:  Clubs are a great way to find people in your age range, who also enjoy similar things that you do! It never hurts to try, right?
  3. Friends: Friends can help out a lot, whether you’re in public and spot someone cute, and you want them to start the conversation for you, or if something goes awry and you need backup.
  4. Spark: Keep your spark and charm! Just because your age is going up doesn’t mean you have to lose your charm. You need to keep the intimacy and love between you two, or the relationship will get boring really quickly.
  5. Who are you?: Who are you? What do you want from yourself and your Lesbian relationship? You need to know your goals and intents before getting into a committed relationship.
  6. Preparation: Physically and mentally, ladies! Be prepared for anything that may come up in your relationship. Finances are a good thing to have taken care of too.

Now if you are looking for the correct match for you, this may be exactly what you are looking for. Don’t give up on your love life… there’s someone out there for you, I promise!

Aretha: R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

In any relationship, you start out with the honeymoon phase- where you just cannot get enough of each other. You text, you tweet, you kiss, you hug, you spend every available moment together. After these feelings have moved past, you begin to realize if the relationship is meant to last or not. Do you feel like your relationship has come to a complete stop? Is it time to move on?

Arguing is a normality in couples; gay or straight, married or engaged- it happens. Arguing does not mean everything is falling apart. While in the midst of an argument, ask why are you doing this? Is it to keep a conversation going?

If something bad has gone wrong, who would be the first person you would call. Would it be the same answer if something really great happened, and you want to share it with the most important person in your life? If you answered no to both… you have some thinking to do. If yes, then need I say more.

If things are ever falling apart, people assume it’s the lack of intimacy- sex. However, it could be something emotionally or mentally, like a lack of conversation.

Even if these are signs that your relationship is coming to a stop, you might just need something to spice your relationship up to the next level, try talking to an expert. Maybe try taking a break? Whatever happens, handle the situation with RESPECT.
