Kristen Stewart Bares All For Mario Testino

Kristen Stewart‘s latest photo shoot isn’t what you’d typically expect from the actress.

On Saturday, world-renowned photographer Mario Testino shared a stunning yet very naked photo of Kristen on Instagram.

The actress is the latest star to join Mario’s Towel Series, which includes celebrities like Kate Moss, Selena Gomez, and Blake Lively.

Testino describes the project as a liberating experience for the subjects.

I think guys and girls feel this freedom at being able to express themselves because there is no predetermined way of how they should put the towel on. You can do anything you want. Wear it however you want.”

The former Twilight star appeared to open up about her sexuality earlier this year, referencing tabloid stories by saying: “Google me, I’m not hiding.”

In an interview with Nylon, Kristen Stewart has opened up about her sexuality.

She said:

Google me, I’m not hiding. If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it. But I am an actress, man. I live in the f**king ambiguity of this life and I love it.”

However, Twilight actress, who was supposedly “outed” by her mum Jules in June, says that while she isn’t hiding, this is not a “coming out”.

She continued

I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’ No, I do a job. Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving… I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.”

In the interview, Stewart also noted Miley Cyrus’ recent announcement about her gender fluidity, adding:

I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.”

She added:

I’ve worked really hard at feeling free and open while not selling it, or helping someone else sell it. I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.”

Tabloid rumours have been circulating about Stewart for some time, with many printing invasive long-lens photo of her with rumoured girlfriends.

Stewart also discusses what she feels is the public’s perception of her.

It’s like I’m involved in a weekly comic book,” she says. “I have this assigned personality … which I helped create, I suppose. People stand to make a lot of money on people like me – it’s this booming industry, so why would you go and change the character that people are paying for?”

Perfect Parody | Kristen Stewart Puts Jesse Eisenberg On the Spot in Ultra Awkward Interview (Video)

With so many awkward interviews happening, Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart wanted to make sure they didn’t miss out on all of the uncomfortable fun. So they decided to stage their own.

Ahead of the release of American Ultra, Eisenberg and Stewart filmed an awkward interview for Funny or Die in which the two stars asked each other questions.

Stewart says the studio thought “it would be fun” for the two actors to interview each other, thus commencing an extremely awkward exchange.

Eisenberg ask Stewart easy questions like…

How did you bulk up for this role? What are your favourite sports teams?”

However, the questions Eisenberg are asked are much different.

Are you seeing anyone? Are you pregnant? What about your boobs? Do they ever slip out accidentally? And is that ever funny or awkward? Or do you do that on purpose to get attention? Do you have a favourite boob?”

After receiving questions about fashion designers, dating, pregnancy and boobs, Eisenberg realises how much easier he has it during interviews, when he’s usually just asked if he used to be the class clown.

I’m not uncomfortable doing interviews. I just feel like a lot of the questions you’re asking me feel like they’re not about the movie.”

Eisenberg concludes the interview by deadpanning,

Now I know what it’s like to be a woman.”

‘Open Windows’ Documentary Interviews Older European Lesbians

While being a lesbian in modern day society isn’t easy by a long shot, it is substantially better than what it once was. These days, there’s lesbian representation that is diverse across continents, races, age groups and gender presentation. There are also Pride events and it is now accepted for politicians, companies and celebrities to support the LGBT community rather than shun them. In fact, if you aren’t on the side of LGBT equality, you’re usually a minority in that opinion.

But before the turn of the century, these things were all but a pipe dream. There was a time not so long ago when not only did lesbians have no rights protecting their identities, but they didn’t even have words to describe their sexuality either; how could you know you were a lesbian when a) people didn’t like to talk about it and b) there were no lesbians in TV shows or movies who you could relate to?

Many older lesbians have seen this new era of progressive opinion and LGBT acceptance develop within society, yet they have also felt the hardships of living in a society that even at the best of times, couldn’t accept them.

In a new documentary from Michèle Massé called ‘Open Windows’, we hear what it’s like to be an older lesbian from four older lesbians themselves.

All four of the women in the film are from Europe: there’s a couple named Micheline and Jocelyne who live together in Paris and then there are two women who live in Madrid, Empar who’s married and Boti who’s divorced.

While it perhaps would have been nice to see a more regionally diverse bunch of people (attitudes towards lesbians in Western Europe will be greatly different to those in the UK or in Eastern European countries) each of the four women in Open Windows brings a unique perspective on the fight so far and what needs to happen next.

For example, Boti, having gone through a divorce from a same-sex partner, feels that same-sex divorce should also be talked about as much as same-sex marriage and that discussing that will help the entire thing seem normal. Empar, on the other hand, says that as she grew up in Francoist Spain (a totalitarian state) there was no reading material available about homosexuality and information was limited, so when she finally realised that she was a lesbian, she was relieved.

Meanwhile, Micheline and Jocelyne face their own set of troubles, such as the fact that Micheline struggled to come out until her sixties and Jocelyne holds the very real fear that people will react badly to her on the street or in her apartment building and that she will end up in a nursing home where the carers do not respect her identity.

Open Windows is currently playing in film festivals across the globe. Visit the film’s website for more information.
