Amanda Peet Wants To Reboot ‘Cagney & Lacey’ With BFF Sarah Paulson (Please Make This Happen)

If Amanda Peet had her way, we’d be getting a reboot of the ’80s TV series Cagney & Lacey co-starring the one and only Sarah Paulson.

In a recent interview with Peet put across her case;

We’d have really strong New York accents. We’d both get in shape, which, like how could that happen? Are we too old already? That’s the other question. We might be. When you hit middle age, it’s really hard to determine how old people are in relation to you. Suddenly you’re in this weird dead zone. I don’t know how old Cagney and Lacey were.”

For the record: Tyne Daly was 36 when the series started in 1982; costar Sharon Gless was 39 when she joined a few months later. The series ran seven seasons.

Peet’s 45. Pauslon is 42. The math works.

‘First Wives Club’ Reboot: Vanessa Lachey To Play A Lesbian Restaurateur

Vanessa Lachey has been cast as the third and final lead on The First Wives Club, TV Land’s pilot rebooting the 1996 film comedy about a coterie of divorcées seeking vengeance on the husbands who wronged them.

Lachey, perhaps most famous for being married to singer Nick Lachey, joins Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother) and Megan Hilty (Smash) in the small-screen adaptation, which is written by New Girl alum Rebecca Addelman and executive produced by Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City).

Lachey will play ‘Sasha, a driven and successful chef in San Francisco. She has it all — a hot restaurant and a great girlfriend whom she plans to marry. But when she reconnects with her old friends after the death of their college roommate, she realizes she may not be as ready to settle down as she thought.’

Hannigan is playing an English professor in a flagging marriage, and Hilty is playing a once-successful actress who’s still chasing stardom while raising a son.

Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, and Goldie Hawn starred in the original First Wives Club, which was itself based on a novel by Olivia Goldsmith.

James Franco Is Rebooting 90’s Cult ‘Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?’ As A Lesbian Vampire Movie

James Franco has just finished production of a new film which is actually the remake of the cult TV film Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?

But this time around, the film focuses on a dangerous relationship between a teenager and her vampire lover.

The actor-writer-director announced his plan to revamp the thriller last year but, according to Vulture, he has now revealed how his film will differ from the 1996 original.

The original film’s star, Tori Spelling, will also star in the remake – except this time, she’ll play the mother, not the daughter.

Leila George will play her teenage child, who introduces her parent to new love interest Pearl (Emily Meade).

Although her daughter seems happy, Spelling’s character “can’t shake the feeling that something is very wrong.”

The film, which will premiere on the US TV network Lifetime, has been officially described as a “vampire love story that brings a whole new meaning to ‘sleeping with danger’”.

Franco will also star in the film, along with Ivan Sergei, who played the dangerous boyfriend in the original.

Franco says that his decision to make the film was influenced by Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s 2015 Lifetime drama A Deadly Adoption.

Will told me that he was actually inspired by my going on General Hospital when he made that. Then Lifetime came to me and [asked if I would] like to recreate one of their movies like Will did.

I said yes, as long as I could change it a bit. It has some similar elements of the original but it’s completely revamped. You’ll have a very non-Lifetime movie on Lifetime.”

The last time lesbian vampires hit the screen was in James Corden’s Lesbian Vampire Killers – which was voted the biggest flop of 2009.

This new project – Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? – will air on the US channel Lifetime on June 18.

No Way, Now ‘Heathers’ Is To Get An LGBT TV Reboot Too

80s cult classic, Heathers (featuring Christian Slater and Winona Ryder), is to return to our screen with a new LGBT twist.

The original black comedy – which was released in 1988 – portrayed a group of four teenage girls whose clique reigns supreme at a US high school, and though it was only reasonably successful at the time, its popularity has risen in the years since.

The movie delved in to topics such as teenage suicide, AIDS, homosexuality, body images, drugs, guns, date rape, death and soon became a cult classic.

Now – nearly 29 years later – US cable channel TV Land have announced a televised reboot.

Billed as the network’s first “anthology series”, some have taken this to mean the show could see the cast change season to season – much like American Horror Story.

More interestingly though, the show will feature what some would call stereotypical outcasts as the main clique.

Gender-queer Heather Duke (whose real name is Heath), Heather McNamara, a lesbian, and overweight Heather Chandler. The series will still take a similar focus to the film and be set around Winona Ryder’s character, Veronica Sawyer and her homicidal boyfriend played by Christian Slater.

Although the network have released little details about what’s actually going to happen, it has said the programme’s protagonists will be “very different but an equally vicious group of Heathers”.

In 2012, another spin-off of the movie set around the daughter’s of the characters was planned but never actually made it to air.

It will be interesting to see how these new Heathers rule the school. How will the writers reshape this dark comedy for a new generation?

Hello! Christina Ricci Dressed As The Addams Family’s Morticia Adams Is Giving Us Tingles

It’s 14 years since the The Addams Family was released in cinemas.

But now it would appear Wednesday Addams is all grown up, and this is what she looks like.

Christina Ricci Dressed as The Addams Family’s Morticia

Well, kinda…

The image of actress Christina Ricci dressed as her character’s adult self, a spitting image of her on screen mother Morticia, is actually a fake with an old promo shot of Anjelica Houston as Morticia Addams and a bit of Photoshop trickery.

But man, it’s a glimpse into the what could be.

So it doesn’t mean that a reboot is on the cards but it is a bit incredible.

And even with it being a well-documented fake, the photo has driven fans of the original movie wild.
