Did Miley Cyrus’ Ex-Girlfriend Stella Maxwell Inspire New Love Song?

Before rekindling her romance with Liam Hemsworth, the pansexual pop star Miley Cyrus was in a low-profile relationship with Kristen Stewart’s current girlfriend, Stella Maxwell.

Now, two years after their breakup, Cyrus is let out a subtle hint as to why the summer fling with the Victoria’s Secret model ended.

Over the last week, the singer has been teasing her new tracks from Younger Now, on social media, and in a 15-second clip released, the singer sings about a woman’s inability to fall for another girl while still in love with her ex-boyfriend

Many are now speculating the track was inspired by her romance with Maxwell.

Without hearing the full version, it’s hard to decrypt if She’s Not Him is about Maxwell – or if it’s suggesting the love interest’s gender factors into the equation.

 

Miley previously opened up about her new album to Billboard magazine and revealed that a lot of her music was inspired by Hemsworth.

Lyrics such as “It’s a brand new start, a dream come true, in Malibu,” in her first single Malibu are clearly a nod to her relationship with the Australian actor.

However, while fans are just getting their first taste of the songs, Cyrus says she is already over the album.

She told BBC Radio 1

I’m already working on the next one. I’m already two songs deep on the next one. I’m over this now. I want to figure out what I want to do next. Hopefully, I can take some time — chill with the dogs, hang with the pigs a little bit more, take some time off. But just keep writing.”

Back in 2015 Kristen Stewart told the world she was “not hiding” her relationship with then-girlfriend Alicia Cargile.

Since then she has been very open about the women she’s been dating.

Now in a new interview Harper’s Bazaar U.K, the actress – who is now currently in a relationship with model Stella Maxwell –  opens up about her experiences dating in the public eye, her increasing openness about her sexuality and her evolving views on fame.

When asked if she’d ever date men again, Stewart appeared completely open to the possibility.

Yeah, totally. Definitely… Some people aren’t like that. Some people know that they like grilled cheese and they’ll eat it every day for the rest of their lives. I want to try everything. If I have grilled cheese once I’m like, ‘That was cool, what’s next?’”

Stewart also shared that, regardless of the gender of the person she’s dated, she has been “deeply in love” with everyone she has ever been with.

Did you think I was faking it? I’ve always really embraced a duality. And really, truly, believed in it and never felt confused or struggling. I just didn’t like getting made fun of.”

The actress explained previously that coming out had made her happier.

When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialised, so I didn’t like it.

We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that.

But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it’, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”

Over the weekend, Kirsten and Kayleigh Jennings tied the knot at a family member’s backyard in Canada. Once it was time for the reception at a pizza parlor called Pizzeria Gusto in Winnipeg, the newlyweds and 90 lucky guests received an unexpected visitor.

According to the couple, the restaurant’s owner asked if it was okay for Stewart and Maxwell to join the couple’s party for a few drinks.

Kirsten said that she didn’t know who Stewart was prior to this, while Kayleigh said that they treated the stars just like any other guest at their reception.

I told Kir, ‘Hey, let’s just treat them as random guests. Let’s just treat them with kindness — southern hospitality. Winnipeg hospitality.'”

It appears that neither of the brides were overwhelmingly starstruck, but were instead focused on the party.

They looked just like two normal girls. ‘They look a little Hollywood, but if we didn’t know who they were, I don’t know if I would have known. We said ‘Hey, you know. Come on and meet your guests and, you know, don’t segregate yourselves. Come and party.'”

Kirsten added,

She pulled up with Stella and we were introduced to them. At one point, someone asked her what kind of music she liked and she said, ‘I love the Beastie Boys’ so they played some Beastie Boys.”

While the couple was planning to have a “low-key, quiet wedding” with Karli Elizabeth Colpitts serving as DJ, some things just can’t be predicted.

It was complimentary to have her there but we just tried to keep it as normal and casual as possible. They were just trying to have a good time just like the rest of us.”

Kirsten added

Probably the best part was everyone still made us feel like the guests of honor.”

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the couple has been together since 2010 when they met while bartending in the Cayman Islands. Kirsten and Kayleigh plan on moving to Austin, Texas in the near future because Winnipeg is “way too cold.”

In a new image – taken by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot for an upcoming W Magazine shoot – Cyrus is seen topless while the girlfriend (as confirmed by W) Stella Maxwell feeds her cake.

Stella was first linked to Miley in May, but the pair confirmed they were more than good friends after they were spotted sharing a passionate smooch on the set of Miley’s video last month.

The kiss came after Miley, who was previously engaged to Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth, told Paper Magazine that she was open to bisexuality.

On Cyrus’ relationship with Stella Maxwell, the singer doesn’t believe this honest.

Miley Cyrus is a girl only looking for publicity. So I don’t believe her; and it’s definitely a PR stunt.’

She went on to describe Stewart (who is apparently dating Alicia Cargile), as being ‘more of a masculine type’, and that she ‘could accept it [bisexuality] from her.’

British model Delevingne, who recently made her relationship to singer Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) public, was the only one the Dutch singer believed to be honest about her sexuality.

So why is Loona such an ‘authority’ on such matters. Well the singer admitted to faking a same-sex relationship with a German model for PR purposes in 2013. That stunt got her a lot of attention and much needed PR to push her career in the right direction.

Well, the rumours are at least partially true. The pair were spotted kissing during a break on set of Cyrus’ upcoming music video, with TMZ catching them making out against a bus – capturing it on video.

This appears to be an invasion of privacy that is not above TMZ, of course, (who loves a good sex tape). But don’t feel weird about watching the video (which, I may add, depicts a SERIOUS make out session. There’s ass grabbing and hands being shoved down pants and everything), Cyrus and Maxwell make eye-contact with the camera before going at it.

It’s reported that both were very aware that photographers were snapping photos of them, but the two seemed comfortable enough to ignore them. They both simply looked happy and not interested in hiding it.

In a candid interview with Paper Magazine back in June, Cyrus expressed,

I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult—anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me.”

She recalled the first time she shared her attraction towards women with her mother and telling her,

I love them. I love them like I love boys.”

Maxwell also has spoken about Cyrus in the past, sharing the story of how they met with V Magazine:

We met through Grindr… Nah, joking. We met through mutual friends via Instagram, which is where Cheyne [Cyrus’s assistant] contacted me about taking some photos. It’s been a trip to hang out and see a little of their world. Felt very organic and right.”

But when asked if she considered Miley her significant other, Maxwell responded cryptically,

New Couple Alert? Sources Report Miley Cyrus is Now Dating Victoria’s Secret Model, Stella Maxwell

The rumour mills are going crazy with this one.

According to reports, the former Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, is involved Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell for the past few months.

A source says:

They hold hands and hug and are very comfortable together. They’re definitely together.”

The two have been linked to each other’s Instagram feeds, so it’s not hard to imagine them being close in some way.

Miley, who has made countless headlines lately regarding her sexuality, again grabbed the spotlight on Tuesday night, when she brought an “agender” date, Tyler Ford, to the amfAR Gala in New York City.

Miley has previously been linked to Patrick Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth. However, although she says she has had relationships with women, she has chosen to keep those private.

She said:

There are times in my life where I’ve had boyfriends or girlfriends. And there are times where I just love being with myself and don’t want to give part of myself away to someone else … I think that’s a new freedom for women, especially.”

As far as Stella and Miley (might we suggest “Stiley” if this sticks?), the two have reportedly been spending time together since Miley split from Schwarzenegger in March. Both gals have made numerous appearances on each other’s Instagram pages over the past few months.

Miley apparently met the 24-year-old runway bombshell through her friend/assistant Cheyne Thomas.
