Kristen Stewart Reveals Her Personal Reason For Cutting Her Hair Short

Kristen Stewart has candidly discussed the ‘traumatic period’ that shaped her new attitude.

The actress, who famously cheated on boyfriend Robert Pattison in 2012, opened up about her life experiences in the August edition on Marie Claire US.

She said:

I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn. Speaking very candidly, it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more… feral.”

Stewart debuted her pixie cut at the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2014 couture show last July, and at the time it was speculated the change was required for her role in the film American Ultra, but the truth is far more personal.

My hair was such a crutch. I looked quote unquote ‘sexy’ no matter what. I could hide behind it. As soon as I didn’t have all that hair, I had to let my face hang out. I felt more confident than I had in a really long time. And it felt really good. Maybe to most people long hair is prettier. But then what? Is your main goal in life to be desired? That is boring as fuck.”

It’s a relaxed image that Kristen believes she has grown into after her career took off during her teenage years.

She explained:

Between ages 15 and 20, it was really intense. I was constantly anxious. I was kind of a control freak. If I didn’t know how something was going to turn out, I would make myself ill, or just be locked up or inhibited in a way that was really debilitating.”

Typically private Kristen is now dating her personal assistant Alicia Cargile.

The romance was confirmed by her mum Jules, who described her daughter as ‘happy’ with her new relationship.

Kristen Stewart, is famed for refusing to speak about her own private life and sexuality.

However, this weekend the Sunday Mirror carried an interview with her mother – Jules Stewart – in which she supposedly claimed her daughter was in a relationship Alicia Cargile.

I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.

I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men.”

Jules Stewart has since told US Weekly that she has been misquoted – and did not discuss her daughter’s love life.

I spoke to [journalist] Sharon Feinstein about my film K-11 that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum.

It’s currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express. Then we talked briefly about the fundraiser I am hosting for TheWolfConnection.org. Never ever did we discuss Kristen!”

She says that when she was asked about Ms Cargile she said she was a “lovely girl” – but did not confirm her daughter was dating her.

However, the freelance journalist who recorded the interview has hit back – and threatened to upload a recording of the interview.

While it’s unlikely Kristen or Alicia will be making a statement or clarifications about the situation, it’s clear how much we as a community are hoping they will.

We want Kristen Stewart on our team because and we want to hear her say it. We want her mom to say she’s proud of her, and that she supports her. We want that for Kristen, like we want it for ourselves.

Some will argue it’s wrong to put so much into a stranger’s identity, but it’s not wrong to be giddy over the idea Kristen is in a happy relationship with a woman.

Kristen Stewart’s Mum Confirms Relationship Rumours by Revealing Her Daughter IS Dating Alicia Cargile

Kristen Stewart IS dating close pal Alicia Cargile after all, the Hollywood actress’ mum has confirmed.

Kristen’s mum Jules Stewart, 55, has confirmed the pair are dating as she tells how happy she is her daughter has found love.

Talking to the Sunday Mirror, she said on the matter

What’s not to be accepting about her now having a girlfriend? She’s happy. I’ve met Kristen’s new girlfriend, I like her. What’s not to accept? She’s a lovely girl.”

She then explained how she feels people must be ‘free to love whoever they want’, adding:

I accept my daughter loves women and men. We all choose our friends so we should be free to choose our lovers.”

And speaking of her sadness at her daughter’s romance with Robert Pattinson not working out, she added:

They were a great couple. I’m very sad that Kristen and Robert didn’t have a chance to be alone together, they had to have the whole world with them and all the public stuff ruined everything, life became overwhelming.”

The Twilight duo abruptly ended their romance after she was seen kissing married director Rupert Sanders, 44, who had directed her in 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman.

While she’s now happily dating Alicia, Robert, 29, is engaged to singer FKA Twigs, 27.

She’s not unhappy at all. She’s thrilled to death that she’s working, she’s still friends with her ex-boyfriend and she’s moving forward.”

Kristen Stewart Goes Public With Her Relationship

Well not officially, but Kristen Stewart and Alicia Cargile showed a lot of affection towards each other on Memorial Day. The ladies wrapped their arms around each other and leaned in close throughout a low-key stroll in LA on Monday.

Kristen and Alicia’s outing marks the first time they’ve been seen together since they took on Coachella with pals in April, and it just might be the duo’s most affectionate appearance since they held hands while celebrating New Year’s in Hawaii.

In the meantime, Kristen has been busy promoting her latest movie, Clouds of Sils Maria, which she discussed in a revealing “carversation” with her BFF in April.

Kristen Stewart has joined the ever-growing list of female celebrities who have been publicly calling out sexism in Hollywood of late. The Hollywood star also admits that she hates being famous, often pondering why anyone would aspire to be a star.

Fame is the worst thing in the world. Especially if it’s pointless. When people say, ‘I want to be famous’, Why? You don’t do anything.”

The actress, famous for her role in the Twilight series, and most recently starred in Clouds Of Sils Maria, where she played a personal assistant to a famous Hollywood celebrity – recently made history for becoming the first American actress to win France’s César award, speaks frankly about gender politics in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar U.K.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar UK, she blasted Hollywood as ‘offensive’ and ‘disgustingly sexist’, Stewart has hit out at the industry which ‘makes women work harder’.

You don’t do anything. Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard. Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy. The actress also discussed how she agonised over her sex scene with former boyfriend Robert Pattinson in the Twilight franchise – explaining she felt pressure to live up to what fans wanted to see in the vampire love scene, and it led to a few sleepless nights.

I only hate (sex scenes) when they’re contrived. That’s when it’s grotesquely uncomfortable. On Twilight we had to do the most epic sex scene of all time. It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better sex than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were like, ‘How do we live up to that?’ It was agony… I wanted it to be so good.”

Kristen Stewart Flaunts the Androgynous Look for Chanel Eyewear Campaign

The now androgynous beauty, Kristen Stewart, has spent plenty of time in front of the camera as the female lead, but for her latest campaign for Chanel, she stepped behind the lens.

The 24-year-old Twilight Saga star has been signed up to model Chanel’s sunglasses and opticals range for spring/summer 2015, but for the shoot Stewart had a bit of a role reversal, facing off against Karl Lagerfeld with a camera.

In a statement, the French fashion house said the black and white images show the actress becoming ‘a charming photo-reporter, her gaze framed by the new optical eyewear and sunglasses’.

What we see, is that she can work a variety of frame shapes, from aviator to square frames.

Is Kristen Stewart’s Relationship With Alicia Cargile A Publicity Stunt?

Once upon a time, many years ago, a comedian by the name of Ellen DeGeneres came out as gay using the iconic ‘Puppy Episode’ of her Ellen TV show. Despite the success of Ellen, the comedian’s show went quickly down the pan and was cancelled not long after. Her truth had been her downfall and now the world was punishing for coming out.

Nowadays though, coming out can have the opposite effect. Many famous faces have come out of the closet including Wanda Sykes, Ellen Page, Wentworth Miller, Brittney Griner, Anna Paquin and so on and so forth and it hasn’t harmed their careers one bit; instead it has given them a new legion of fans who support their honesty.

However, while we hope that celebrities are coming out for the right reasons, it’s often criticised as a publicity stunt. Jessie J and Lady Gaga both came out as bisexual several years ago before changing their minds and saying they were straight after all – while it’s not unheard for people to change their minds about their sexuality and how they want to label it, the fact that they had both been so outspoken about LGBT topics made some question as to whether they’d only come out to pander and appeal to queer audiences.

Now, as people look at what’s happening with Kristen Stewart and her close ‘gal pal’ Alicia Cargile (who she is often pictured with), many are asking if they are truly in a relationship, or whether whatever’s going on between them is instead being milked by Kristen and her team for publicity.

On the one hand, a very good case can be made for Kristen doing this for publicity. Following the release of Snow White and The Huntsman (the fairy tale epic that featured Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth), it came to light that Kristen and the director of the movie, Rupert Sanders, had been having an affair. He was a married man and Kristen was still dating Robert Pattinson (her Twilight co-star) at the time and so fans and the media alike were up in arms about what a ‘dirty cheating homewrecker’ she was.

Following the scandal, Kristen’s professional career has picked up somewhat (she was recently in Still Alice with Julianne Moore) but for the most part her public persona is still in tatters and given that she was considered as ‘the moody girl who never smiles’ before the news broke, she didn’t have a lot to go off in the first place. That’s why it makes good sense for the friendship/relationship/gals being pals thing that Kristen and Alicia have going on to be for publicity.

While the media asks ‘are they or aren’t they’ and assigns various sexuality labels to the two of them, it keeps Kristen in the public eye and all she has to do is go to brunch with someone she’s close with. It’s a win win situation.

However, a strong case against it is the fact that Kristen and Alicia were already incredibly close. Before the media caught on (or took such a strong interest, as we are seeing now), Kristen and Alicia were seen hanging out around Hollywood already. How can it be a publicity stunt if she’s doing what she’s always done?

Much less, when does Kristen, a woman who has famously flipped off the paparazzi, talked about how awful it feels to be photographed and has told the media to ‘f–k off’ ever court the media’s interests? Although there is minimum work involved here, it doesn’t make a lick of sense for her to suddenly make an effort to get the press talking about her.

Perhaps it’s the plausibility of these two answers that explains why so many people are asking Kristen to come out – or just to address the situation. While celebrity culture (and our insistence on knowing everything about a star’s life) is utterly bizarre as it is, people do want answers.

Sadly though, whether Kristen and Alicia come out or just deny that anything romantic is going on between them, the media will herald her decision and talk about her some more or they’ll call her a liar with something to hide.

She can’t really win here, which is a shame, but no matter what she decides to do (or even if she decides to do nothing) there will still be plenty of fans lining up to support her.

Kristen Stewart To Join Michelle Williams And Laura Dern In New Kelly Reichardt’s Film

Kristen Stewart has signed up to join Reichardt’s (as-yet-untitled) next film alongside Academy Award nominees, and lesbian favourites, Michelle Williams (If These Walls Could Talk 2) and Laura Dern (the lesbian who coaxes Ellen DeGeneres out of the closet in the famous 1997 “The Puppy Episode” of the television series Ellen).

Stewart has seen a shift in a career as of late – moving more indie, than teen ideal – and receiving critical respectability with her role in Clouds Of Sils Maria. The role won her a Cesar award, which is more impressive than an Oscar because it’s French.

Set in a small-town in Montana, Stewart will reportedly play a lawyer from Boise, Idaho who takes a teaching job several hours from where she lives. Despite her nerves about teaching, she’s determined to prove to herself that she can do it. Soon after taking the job, Beth develops a close friendship with Jamie, a local woman who’s auditing her class. Whether this role will be played by Williams, Dern, or one of the film’s other, less fancy cast members – including Point Break’s James Le Gros, Mad Men’s Jared Harris, and newcomer Sara Rodier – is not yet known.

For several weeks Stewart has been dogged with reports she in a relationship with with her close pal/girlfriend Alicia Cargile. They even been seen holding hands on numerous occasions (shock horror). However, she has yet to address the rumors they’re in a romantic relationship.

Pattinson kept quiet on the subject as he made his way through the terminal, but he couldn’t help crack a smile at the craziness.

Kristen Stewart Wins a César Award, France’s Version of the Oscar

On Friday, Kristen Stewart won a supporting-actress César for her work in Cloud of Sils Maria, making her the first American actress to ever take home France’s most coveted acting award.

In the drama from writer/director Olivier Assayas, Stewart plays a personal assistant to an aging film actress (Juliette Binoche) who is looking to make a career comeback.

Accepting the prize, Stewart said “OK. Here we go. I can’t even move my hands,” she said in English as she unfolded a piece of paper. “Je suis désolée, je ne parle pas Fren — uh, français, mais je promets de travailler — something like that”. Translation: “I am sorry I do not speak French, but I promise to work at it”.

Stewart gave the rest of her speech in English, where she was keen to praise her co-star – “Juliette, thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m standing in front of a room where I do not have to explain the power of Juliette”.

Stewart told journalists backstage,

“The reasons why people make films here in France are very different from the reasons why people make movies in Hollywood and I prefer it here a little bit.” According to the outlet, “she also revealed she will star in another French film but declined to reveal any further details.”

WTF – Ellen Page in Court?!

Ellen Page and her lawyers found themselves in court this week, after police arrested a stranger crashing in her front yard. WTF?!

The guy had set up camp and made himself cosy with all the necessities – bedding, a cell phone, a laptop, iPod, a pot pipe, and for some reason, one PlayStation game controller (why just one… we have no idea).

Ms Page was unaware of her intruder, until he repeatedly knocked on her window and tried to bust in through her front door.

Ellen says the guy told police she’s a “nice” person who wouldn’t mind him squatting on her property – I think she did mind.

The saga continues with the is-she-isn’t-she Kristen Stewart. This week it has been all over the papers that Ms Stewart and her rumored BF/GF, Alicia Cargile, are taking the next big step in their relationship – they’re renting an U-Haul people!

Kristen Stewart Receives Homophobic Slurs As She Walks Hand-in-hand With Alicia Cargile

At the end of last week, Kristen Stewart was captured holding hands with her friend, Alicia Cargile as she walked through LAX.

However, what was even more startling about the scene was the amount of abuse the actress got from the LAX paparazzi – who screamed ‘are you a lesbian’ along side some other obscene words.

Kristen and Alicia were returning from the wedding of Riley Keough in Napa Valley, and as this event was a social event one, and not work based outing (Alicia is Kristen’s make-up artist), speculation mounted that Alicia was there as Kristen’s plus one.

The press have been going crazy over this story for months, which Kristen has already said is a huge ‘embellishment’ on her private life. However, could this be the biggest sign yet that she is in a relationship with Alicia?

Whether or not she is, what is important, is that this whole thing be respected and not debased by an all-male-show that use as an opportunity misogynies their relationship, dis-respect, discriminate and be homophobic.

Kristen doesn’t deserve to have people screaming offensive terms at her as she walks through the airport.

We salute the way she handled things though. Taking Alicia’s hand and showing the world she doesn’t give a f*ck. Maybe its a sign that they’re in a relationship or just the actress trying to protect her friend from being pulled into the media circus that surrounds her love life.

A few years ago Kristen was a marriage wreck, now she’s cut her hair and isn’t visibly dating anyone, she’s a lesbian.

Kristen Stewart is still driving the tabloids wild, not only is she the face of Wonderland, BUT she still insisting on travelling the world with make-up artist, and LESBIAN friend, Alicia Cargile. Are they, aren’t they… we’re not too sure, but they certainly have everyone’s attention.

Ellen Page dating Shailene Woodley?!

Really – but they’re just BFFs. Well apparently Ellen’s coming out and Shailene’s fluidity in love means there is plenty of room too gossip.

According to certain sources, the pair are rumoured to be dating, having been spotted dining in West Hollywood. A dinner, which comes on the back of Shailene hinting at her possible bisexuality – telling The Hollywood Reporter:

“I fall in love with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do or what sex they are.”

Personally I think everyone needs to calm down a little bit. Yes they would make a great lesbian power couple, but a dinner date with a lesbian doesn’t automatically make you gay.

High drama for Angel Haze

On a slightly sadder note – rumours were buzzing that Angel Haze and her girlfriend Ireland Baldwin split. Noooooooo!

It was only 48 short hours ago, we were blissfully happy, listen to Haze’s brilliant new track, Candlxs, a love song she says she wrote for her girlfriend.

But then something terrible happened, with the rapper tweeting:

And final we have Cara Delevingne. Oh Cara, Cara, Cara… how you make our office buzz. According to source, Ms Delevingne love affair with Selena Gomez is over… when did it even start?! Hmmm, I seem to remember this little rumour started circulating last year for some reason vaguely to do with Justin bieber, but this short-lived romance has now been dashed by Gomez moving onto DJ Beau Zedd. Shame.

Alas we cannot be too sad for Ms Delevingne, as she has quickly been embraced by two Hollywood tribes – the Willis (Bruce Willis and Demi Moore children).

First Look At Kristen Stewart On Cover Of Wonderland

Kristen Stewart looks rather handson on the cover of Wonderland’s spring fashion issue, as she rocks her cropped haircut.

The Wonderland’s spring 2015 fashion issue hits news stands next week. In the issue, Stewart is set to appear in the issue with actress Ashley Benson and models Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin.

However expect to see more of Stewart’, as her fashion status continues to grow. She has a new gig with Chanel as well, where she joins Vanessa Paradis and Alice Dellai for Chanel’s handbag campaign, which rolls out in April.

Stewart has also been hitting the rumour mills as of late, due to the fact she is spending a lot of time with her stylist Alicia Cargile, with most pretty convinced the two are in a relationship, but this rumor remains unconfirmed.

Kristen Stewart Touches Base on Recent Tabloid Rumours

The Tabloids can’t seem to cope without going to press with a ‘new’ Kristen Stewart story. However, in a recent interview with HuffPost Live, the actress appeared to take all the rumors in stride.

The former Twilight actress (who has always attempted to keep her love life private) hit the headlines when she was spotted with ‘close friend’ Alicia Cargile on holiday.

Photos published by a number of tabloids showed the pair holding hands and snuggling on a Hawaii beach.

While talking with HuffPost Live, Stewart avoided addressing the claims directly, saying:

“There’s a whole other form of entertainment that’s just voraciously consumed in itself.”

“For her, especially, there’s been so much interest in Kristen for the longest time. Because of the size of the movies she’s been involved in when she was very young, it’s hard to escape that. I think that it’s also a form of entertainment. I think you have to take all that stuff with a grain of salt, and she often does.”

Why The Tabloid Obsession With Kristen Stewart and Her ‘Lez-be-Friend’ relationship?

Ever since she hit it big with the vampire series that everybody loves to hate (Twilight), Kristen Stewart’s personal life has been tabloid fodder. Headlines were made about her romance with co-star Robert Pattinson, they were made again when she appeared to have cheated on him with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman (a film that she starred in) and a fair few outlets have speculated that Kristen Stewart is gay.

Is it the fact that Kristen once said that her her first crush was Natalie Portman? Or that time on the Snow White and the Huntsman press tour when she said she wanted to make out with Charlize Theron? The reasoning is somewhat of a mystery.

However, while we were pondering the ‘why’ of the rumours, they’ve flared up once more as the actress has gone on vacation with her gal pal Alicia Cargile, leading many to assume once again that Kristen is gay and that Alicia is her girlfriend.

Kristen and Alicia (who is a visual effects producer) reportedly became close friends following Kristen’s breakup with Robert Pattinson. The timing and the fact that the two appear to be inseparable (they’re often seen together, sometimes in matching or shared clothes) has led to people thinking they’re dating.

The dating rumours are backed up by sources previously saying that “Love is love to Kristen. She’s really happy with Alicia”, “When Kristen and Alicia were in Hawaii for New Years, I am sure that they thought no one was going to see them but they are not exactly nonchalant about their relationship anymore” and “They are inseparable and mimic each other’s everything”.

So is Kristen gay? Is she straight? Is she bisexual? Well, we have no idea. Not only are those sources anonymous (or those quotes could have just been made up by the publications they came from) but Kristen is notoriously closed off about her personal life. We didn’t even get a confirmation that she was dating Robert Pattinson until they broke up years later.

Overall though, if Kristen Stewart is gay as all the tabloids would have us believe, then good for her. And if she wants to come out Ellen Page style then hey, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.

Kristen Stewart Calls Out Anti-Feminists

Unfortunately, the word ‘feminist’ has a heavy, negative stigma attached to it. Despite feminism being the call for equality between the sexes (read: to make things more of a level playing field for everybody) plenty are quick to dismiss the important ideals of feminism and label its supporters as bra-burning man-haters.

It’s a shame that so many people have bought into this thought – that feminism is wrong and that feminists would like to see women become the most powerful gender (as opposed to gender equality) – but it’s a viewpoint often steeped in misogyny and the belief that women don’t deserve to be equal in the first place. And, in many cases, people being anti-feminist (or being against the word) is simply because they just don’t understand what feminism is and so they deride it instead of cracking open a dictionary.

But this doesn’t fly with those who support feminism and now Kristen Stewart is calling them out.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actor explains that

“[Saying you’re not feminist is] such a strange thing to say, isn’t it? Like, what do you mean? Do you not believe in equality for men and women? I think it’s a response to overly-aggressive types. There are a lot of women who feel persecuted and go on about it, and I sometimes am like, “Honestly, just relax, because now you’re going in the other direction.” Sometimes, the loudest voice in the room isn’t necessarily the one you should listen to. By our nature alone, think about what you’re saying and say it—but don’t scream in people’s faces, because then you’re discrediting us.”

She adds that roles that are “different, and complex, and not some typical, archetypal girl” are “rare” because the movie industry is “a male-dominated and driven business.”

When asked about the fact that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke’s career hit the skids after just one bad film, Stewart added that

“That’s a thing that women have to do—you must persevere. That’s what we’ve been doing. You need to make something that’s undeniably good. If a woman makes a bad movie, or does something stupid, then the door just slams shut. It’s fucked up.”

As so many of her peers speak out against feminism it’s refreshing to hear Kristen Stewart as the voice of feminist reason above it all. She’s regularly outspoken and should be commended for it. We’ll keep you posted on more of her well-reasoned thinking.

Jenny Lewis’ Puts Anne Hathaway & Kristen Stewart In Drag

Jenny Lewis’ new music video ‘Just One Of The Guys’ is fantastic. Starring Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Brie Larson in drag, the video is for Lewis’ first single off her first album in six years – ‘The Voyager’.

Stewart, Larson and Hathaway all play back up in the music video. The trio switch it up from all-white clad band, to becoming the titular dudes, all wearing tracksuits and fake moustaches. The song is about the expectations placed on women as they get older.

Lewis’ previous solo album, Acid Tongue may have been six years ago, but she’s been busy. In the interim, she created a collaborative I’m Having Fun Now under Jenny & Jonny, and she also did film work, scoring and writing songs for the indie flicks ‘Very Good Girls’ and ‘Song One’.

Clouds of Sils Maria is the hotly anticipated upcoming film drama written and directed by Olivier Assayas, and starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloë Grace Moretz.

The Plot – Juliette Binoche headlines as Maria Enders, a luminous talent in early middle-age who once rose to fame playing 18-year-old Sigrid in a lauded lesbian drama. Now a new director wants to re-stage the play, this time casting Maria in the role of Helena, the bitter, brittle older lover. Maria is reluctant but the director insists. “Sigrid and Helena are one and the same person. And because you were Sigrid, only you can play Helena.” Enter Jo-Ann (Chloe Grace Moretz), a Hollywood starlet, fresh out of rehab o play Sigrid.

Yet, this story is not the focus of the film, the interest lies in the dynamics between Maria and Val (Kristen Stewart), the actor’s personal assistant. The relationship here is quite beautifully drawn, with Stewart again demonstrating what a terrific performer she can be away from the shadow of Twilight.

It is immediately apparent that these two women are close. Maria and Val love each other and live together, but their friendship has never been on an equal footing – and here is the twist….
